Perrier-Jouët reimagines its iconic bottle to celebrate 120 years of Belle Époque

17 Dec 2022

Maison Perrier-Jouët, renowned for its intricate champagnes, has released a Belle Époque 2013 Limited-Edition bottle to celebrate the iconic cuvée’s 120th anniversary.

Since 1811, Maison Perrier-Jouët has evolved in symbiosis with nature. It is an essential source of inspiration which guides the way the House crafts its wines; an ethos recalling that of the Art Nouveau movement.

The Belle Epoque 2013 Limited-Edition bottle celebrates the Japanese anemone motif created in 1902 by Emile Gallé, one of the pioneers of Art Nouveau, which became an iconic emblem of Maison Perrier-Jouët. Now 120 years on, this motif has been transformed by the creative vision of Austrian designers mischer’traxler, who are continuing their exploration with Perrier-Jouët of the relationship between mankind and nature.

“Belle Époque is a true icon – a rare and elegant champagne that celebrates the art of vintage and the excellence of the Perrier-Jouët vineyard” said Séverine Frerson, the current and seventh cellar master of Perrier-Jouët.

For the bottle design, seventy species each of which contribute to the biodiversity of the vineyards of France’s Champagne region, mix and mingle with the anemone in a vibrant, colourful manner, a multi-layered representation of their interdependencies. The designers’ inspiration for the design was how all species play an equal role in the biological balance of the ecosystem to which they belong, a magnificent and complex concept which Maison Perrier-Jouët strives to preserve, both in its vineyards and beyond.

With only 100 units Australia-wide, the Belle Epoque 2013 Limited-Edition bottle will be exclusively available via prestige retailer Emperor Champagne: emperorchampagne.com.au.

In addition to the Belle Époque 2013 Limited-Edition bottle, all Belle Époque vintages will be available in a Limited-Edition box which will be available at all Perrier-Jouët retailers.
