Fragrance lovers know oud is rarely shy. But when paired with the radiant sensuality of jasmine, it becomes something far more nuanced—and unforgettable. Created by perfumer Julien Rasquinet at the request of Roberto Drago and Daniela Caon, Laboratorio Olfattivo Oud in White is a masterclass in balance: bold yet soft, familiar yet unexpected.
The scent opens with a vibrant, almost effervescent combination of pear, ginger, and raspberry. It's light, fleeting, and deliberately misleading. What follows is a heart of intoxicating jasmine sambac—lush, creamy, and indolic—tempered by the dry elegance of cedarwood and the velvet warmth of osmanthus. Just as the floral notes begin to settle, the base unfurls: labdanum, Sri Lankan sandalwood, and a hypnotic Cambodian oud (Oud Al Safii), grounded in shadowy resins and warm mineral wood.
There’s a glowing tension in Oud in White—a dialogue between brightness and depth, delicacy and darkness. The name itself is a clue: oud is rarely cast in white, but here it glows with restraint and refinement. The result is neither overly masculine nor traditionally feminine—it’s sensual, skin-hugging, and completely transportive.
With responsibly sourced ingredients such as jasmine sambac and labdanum, and the use of upcycled molecules like Norlimbanol and Polysantol, Oud in White is as modern in its construction as it is timeless in its emotional resonance. It doesn’t shout—but it certainly lingers.
Laboratorio Olfattivo Oud in White - an olfactive portrait of contrasts, orchestrated with a whisper rather than a roar.
