From April 11 to May 8, 2025, Van Cleef & Arpels presents The Art of Movement exhibition at Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores in The Rocks, marking the Maison’s first major exhibition in Australia. With free entry, this remarkable event offers a rare opportunity to view over 100 extraordinary creations from Van Cleef & Arpels’ patrimonial collection, alongside more than 50 archival documents that trace the Maison’s rich heritage of movement in jewellery design.
Previously exhibited in cities like London, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Guangzhou, The Art of Movement explores the Maison’s relentless pursuit of infusing movement into precious materials. Divided into four captivating themes—Human Odyssey, Nature Alive, Elegance, and Abstract Movements—the exhibition takes visitors on a mesmerising journey through the artistry that has defined Van Cleef & Arpels since its founding in 1906. From fluid draperies of gemstones to delicate ballerinas seemingly caught mid-dance, every piece showcases the Maison’s mastery in capturing movement within stillness.
Adding to the immersive experience, Van Cleef & Arpels has curated a special program featuring exclusive conversations with L’École, School of Jewelry Arts, on April 30 and May 1. These sessions provide a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of High Jewellery, unveiling the inspirations and craftsmanship behind the Maison’s iconic creations. Meanwhile, for younger creatives, weekend workshops led by renowned Australian paper artist Benja Harney will ignite the imaginations of the next generation, transforming paper into sculptural masterpieces inspired by the exhibition’s themes.
