Located at 25 Martin Place, in the heart of Sydney city, the new Missoni store covers a floorspace of 1,700 sqft (157 mq) spread over two floors, offering a unique experience that blends architecture, design, and fashion. The boutique interprets the iconic zig-zag movement that characterises Missoni fabrics in architectural form.
The interior of the store stands out for the continuity of its gently rounded walls, made from innovative materials such as metal slats and compressed cellulose. The design objective was to create a fluid, uninterrupted space where the customer's gaze can move freely, accompanied by the graphic texture of Missoni's iconic knitwear pieces. The zig-zag pattern, the brand's distinctive symbol, is interpreted through three-dimensional coverings, playing with light to highlight the details of the surfaces. This creates a neutral, refined, and essential environment, designed to emphasize the vibrant colours and fine fabrics of the collections, the true heart of the space.
The boutique fully reflects the brand's values, with particular attention to the choice of materials. Among these, Milleforma Cotone stands out, a composite material made from cotton linters and clay. The architectural concept is to create a neutral environment wherein colours and fabrics of the clothing and accessories can stand out, without renouncing a certain level of characteristic style and refinement in the use and choice of materials and lighting.
The boutique offers a range of Missoni clothing and accessories for women’s both from the ready-to-wear and beachwear collections, in addition to the Missoni Home Collection.
