RALPH LAUREN CELEBRATES INDIVIDUALITY AND SELF-EXPRESSION IN PRIDE: LOVE YOUR TRUE COLOURS

15 Jun 2021

The bravest choices you can make are to be yourself and remain true to what you love.” – Ralph Lauren.

Building on a 30-year history of supporting and advancing LGBTQIA+ issues through volunteer activations, corporate initiatives and financial grants, Ralph Lauren will continue to celebrate the historic significance of Pride, spotlighting select muralists who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, to highlight their creativity and unique stories. Additionally, the brand will re-issue its unisex Polo Pride collection for adults and children. The company has partnered with Stonewall Community Foundation to donate a portion of the purchase price of each item sold to benefit LGBTQIA+ organizations around the world. Stonewall Community Foundation prioritizes and uplifts those who experience the greatest vulnerability within the community, including communities of color and transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary people. Ralph Lauren stands for a community where all voices matter and where all differences are celebrated; creativity, self-expression, individuality, authenticity, diversity and inclusion are integral parts of the brand’s DNA.

Globally, during the month of June, the company is partnering with artists David Puck in NY and Ashton Attz in London, both of whom are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, to create artistic outdoor murals to celebrate and honor Pride month. Ralph Lauren recognizes that the Pride movement was built by brave people who harnessed the power of their creativity to transform the world around them and wants to honour and highlight the artists who pave the way forward today. Starting from June 15 through to June 27 , David Puck will create and feature a silo mural canvas in Domino Park, Brooklyn that represents their personal expression of who they are and what they believe, while Ashton Attz will paint her own Pride-inspired mural in Notting Hill.

In addition to supporting local queer artists, Ralph Lauren will continue to partner with key LGBTQIA+ media outlets globally, such as them. and Têtu that represent and cover issues that speak to the community year-round.

The Polo Pride capsule collection is gender-neutral, available in adult and youth sizes and features the iconic Polo Pony reimagined in rainbow colors. The collection available locally consists of a Polo shirt, graphic tee and sweatshirt. 100% of the purchase price from the sale of each Polo shirt and 25% of the purchase price from the sale of each graphic tee and sweatshirt will be donated to Stonewall Community Foundation.

Stonewall Community Foundation will make strategic investments in communities where the capsule is sold, through an international network of change-making LGBTQIA+ organizations, touching many different LGBTQIA+ community needs. Longstanding grantee partner examples include Sylvia Rivera Law Project, Audre Lorde Project and Ali Forney Center, among many others working on change.

Ralph Lauren Corporation and The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation have a long-standing history of supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. Support has been provided through volunteer activations, corporate initiatives, and financial grants. Partners have included, but are not limited to, the Hetrick-Martin Institute, amfAR, AIDS Walk New York, God’s Love We Deliver, and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The company is also a member of the United Nations Human Rights Business Standards for LGBTI, standing with the UN global business standards that protect the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community in the workplace. For the second sequential year, the Ralph Lauren Corporation is proud to receive 100% on our infrastructure for LGBTQIA+ equality in the workplace from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest LGBTQIA+ advocacy group in the United States.

The Pride capsule collection will be available at select Polo Ralph Lauren stores nationwide.
