Highland Park Releases the Coveted Single Cask #3439 in Australia, Available Exclusively from Barrel & Batch

22 May 2024

Orkney-based single malt distillery, Highland Park, unveils the third release of the popular and highly anticipated Single Cask series, bottled in partnership with Barrel & Batch. The 10-Year-Old Single Cask #3439 Ex Sherry Single Malt Whisky will be available exclusively from Barrel & Batch for whisky-lovers to enjoy from May 2024.

The Single Cask journey began with the inaugural sherry cask expressions, brimming with the quintessential sherry influence that defined the earlier releases. Now entering its third generation, Highland Park ventures into the 10-year-old single malt whisky territory to add even further depth and complexity – the culmination of this lauded three-part series with Barrel & Batch.

The 10-Year-Old Single Cask #3439, a spirited liquid distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2022 embodies a distinct departure, leaning toward a more spirit-forward profile. Within this evolution, the DNA of the distinctive Highland Park palate remains intact, with a thick, luscious texture that envelops the senses, with the rich aromas of oak, smoke, violets, cloves, new leather, and vanilla, while tasting notes of vanilla, smoke, toasted oak, nutmeg, and demerara sugar unfold on the palate.

“We're excited to bring the 10-Year-Old Single Cask #3439 to our fans in Australia. This whisky beautifully captures the wild spirit of Orkney with its rich, smoky, and complex flavors,” says Highland Park Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion.

“The collaboration with Barrel & Batch has been exceptional, allowing us to share this unique expression with a wider audience. This release complements our core range by adding a distinctive depth and character that whisky lovers will truly appreciate."

Highland Park proudly creates whiskies of exceptional character, complexity, and craftsmanship – inspired by the rugged natural surrounds of the distillery in Orkney, a cluster of 70 islands off the northernmost reaches of the Scottish mainland. The islands may be remote, and the weather might be wild, but the climate is temperate, and the people are creative – so it’s the perfect place for making whisky.

This dedication is exemplified through the series of Highland Park limited releases, including the Cask Strength Release No.3 (which is also available from Barrel & Batch) as well as the core range which pays tribute to the Viking heritage of Orkney, including the 10-Year-Old Viking Scars, 12-Year-Old Viking Honour, 15-Year-Old Viking Heart and the 18-Year-Old Viking Pride.

Highland Park 10-Year-Old Single Cask #3439 is available now from Barrel & Batch with a recommended retail price of $199.00 in a 700ML bottle with an ABV 65.3%.
