REBECCA VALLANCE DESIGNS LIMITED-EDITION QANTAS PYJAMAS & AMENITY KITS

08 Jun 2023

Rebecca Vallance announces a strategic partnership with Qantas Airways, as the designer for the limited-edition business class pyjamas and amenity kits, to celebrate the return of the Qantas service to New York.

On June 14th, Qantas will begin operating flights from Sydney to New York for the first time since 2020, this time via a short stopover in Auckland before the nonstop service to New York.

Qantas is one of only a few airlines in the world to offer its Business Class customers a complimentary ‘sleeper suit’ (pyjamas) as part of the flying experience. For a limited time, Business Class travellers will be offered a collectable bespoke matching PJ and Amenity kit designed by Rebecca Vallance, that pays homage to New York and incorporates the Avenue Astoria Collection print. Avenue Astoria is a nod to the glamorous characters of New York's Waldorf Astoria in the 1970s, a place where the comings and goings of style icons like Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross were well documented.

The design features a monogram of the Qantas ‘Roo’ and Rebecca Vallance logo and incorporates the flight numbers QF3 and QF4 for the updated New York Route. The palette of blues and subtle Art Deco undertones reflects the heritage, glamour, and sophistication of the Waldorf Astoria's hotel architecture.

Founder and Creative Director, Rebecca Vallance joins an esteemed list of Australian and International designers who have worked with Qantas Airways on a special edition pyjama design. “It’s an honour to partner with the Iconic and globally recognised Australian brand that is Qantas. New York has always felt like a second home to Rebecca Vallance, and we hope to be visiting even more with the opening of a bricks and mortar retail store in SoHo in the near future. We curated the bespoke Rebecca Vallance design as an homage to one of the world’s most vibrant and exciting cities, with inspiration from our latest collection - ‘Avenue Astoria’,” Said Vallance.

To further celebrate the launch, Qantas hosted an exclusive event, with a runway presentation and New York inspired lunch to unveil the high flying partnership with Rebecca Vallance. The printed Rebecca Vallance gowns are metallic Italian fabrication, with Art Deco inspired patterns. Sunray pleated skirts that reflect the grand pillars inside the Waldorf Astoria with a love heart diamante belt that mimics the heart design of the sleeper suit. The gowns featured on the runway will be part of a competition for Qantas Frequent Flyers who purchase a Rebecca Vallance item from either Qantas Marketplace (Qantasmarketplace.com) or direct from Rebecca Vallance to go in the draw to win a custom couture gown.

A limited number of Rebecca Vallance Qantas Pyjamas and Amenity kits will be available to purchase at Qantas Marketplace through a points redemption purchase.
