A sensual and spicy sandalwood fragrance which heroes South Pacific Sandalwood, Island Lush ignites in its wearer a desire for embrace and adventure. A wind of exoticism transports you on a journey to islands beyond the horizon, where radiant spices, vegetal roots and luscious resins envelop smooth wood species. It features notes of Ginger, Nutmeg, Bergamot and Pink Pepper, along with Wood, Iris, Cedar and Geranium; accompanied by base notes of Vetiver, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Leather and Patchouli.
Goldfield & Banks’ founder Dimitri Weber first encountered this unique species of Sandalwood, Santalum Austrocaledonicum, in Western Australia in 2021 through Wescorp – the world specialists in sourcing, exporting and processing Australian and International Sandalwood. Goldfield & Banks has worked with Wescorp for the last four years, and is the only beauty brand to use Wescorp’s sustainably grown, harvested, and processed Agarwood. When entering their processing warehouse, Dimitri was first captivated by the distinct scent of the Sandalwood dust paired with the industrial scent of the environment and Western Australia’s dry heat. He noted that an industrial warehouse had never smelled so pure and luxurious – this is how the seed of Island Lush was born.
Island lush has an exotic and slightly sandy character due to the treatment of the Sandalwood logs, which are rinsed with ocean water before being wrapped in coloured tarps to dry, giving the final inspiration for the creation of Island Lush. Celebrating ingredients from Australia and its neighboring islands, Island Lush is the newest introduction to the Goldfield & Banks Botanical Series, which celebrates the science of perfumery and the innovations happening in Australia.
