Wooded depths, hypnotic spices and liquid stillness—it is this mesmeric blend of intriguing notes that gives Eidesis Eau de Parfum its deeply captivating character. The next chapter in the Othertopias fragrance collection—inspired by liminal spaces both real and imagined—takes the wearer to the edge of a pond, peering into its reflective surface. Drawing on the myth of Narcissus and Echo, and the struggle between the inner and outer selves, the aroma is provocative yet comforting, seductive yet distinctly unconventional.
As with all of Aesop’s fragrances, Eidesis knows no gender boundaries, and is designed to be worn as an intimate layer that lingers on both body and mind. It opens with rousing top notes of sparkling Petitgrain, spicy Black Pepper and a subtle floral accord, leading to a resinous, spicy heart of Frankincense, Cumin and Cedar, before resting into a base of sumptuous Sandalwood, Cedar and earthy, green Vetiver. Eidesis was devised in partnership with Barnabé Fillion, a long- term collaborator who is the nose behind the previous three Othertopias scents: Miraceti, Karst and Erémia. Fillion says of Eidesis: ‘It could be seen as the most sensual of our fragrances—it works so well with people’s skin that somehow you feel it is a layer that was already there.’
For the launch of this new fragrance, scent is translated into space as echoes of a myth reverberate through botanical in-store installations that mirror the warm spices, woods and ambery depths of Eidesis. A growing number of Fragrance Armoires across select locations will also allow visitors the opportunity to explore the full range of eaux de parfum and imbue a piece of clothing with their chosen aroma.
