Carriere Freres - Love is a rose

16 Mar 2022

The ‘Love is a Rose’ collection – ‘L’Amour est une Rose’ – celebrates the tight bonds Love creates, whether unconditional, filial or friendly. Comprising of two unique scents, the collection is built around Damascus Rose, blended with spearmint and pepper.

In between rose and spearmint, there is no love lost: when cold, the scent of fresh mint stands out and when warm, the soft perfume of rose prevails. This year, pepper joins the dance, spices up the relationship: fiery, it contrasts with the rose’s tenderness, reveals it with a renewed warmth.

Protected by a mat glass – tinted in a soft or antique pink – the duo of scented candles is matched by two identically scented diffusers. A new addition to the range that further completes the home collection, the botanical palet ‘La Rose aime le Poivre’ is sprinkled with rose buds and peppercorns: the ideal scented combination brings a soft and spicy scent to a bedroom. Boasting an entirely new packaging, the ‘Love is a Rose’ collection blushes with scented pleasures.

This year again, Carrière Frères celebrates the surprising union between the Spearmint, deep green perennial plant, and the “Queen of Flowers”: the Damascus Rose.

Discovered in Turkey, the rose proudly exhibits its exquisite corolla of petals in order to reveal the finesse of its scent. By contrast, spearmint offers freshness with its deep green serrated leaves and cob-shaped pink or lilac flowers. Characteristic from North Africa's souk markets and palaces, it stands out with its exhilarating and subtle scent.

When cold, the scent of fresh mint stands out and when warm, the soft perfume of rose prevails.

Between the delicate Damascus Rose and the heady Spearmint, the idyll is so strong that the couple is now available in two formats.

While the lovers meet themselves in the heart of a diffuser and in the shape of an apothecary flask to exhale the freshness of their love, this is behind a matte, soft pink glass, that they organize a romantic rendezvous to rekindle the flame.

Available in limited editions, in flowered packaging raspberry-colored, La Rose aime la Menthe candle and diffuser are an invitation to share precious moments with your loved ones.

On the labels, outlined with a golden rim, a bouquet of roses embraces a few sprigs of spearmint. All in all, the story is simple: rose loves mint and vice versa!

Between pepper and Damascus Rose, love is passionate.

‘Queen of flowers’ originally from Turkey, the Damascus Rose has been praised since Antiquity for the finesse of its scent and elegance. Historically celebrated from China to Persia, rose is a divine symbol. Equally rare and noble, pepper has been traded since Antiquity: a scarce commodity, it was used as a currency and is even mentioned in Roman figure Apicius’ book “De re culinarian libri”. Generally, pepper is known for its intense taste and stimulating medicinal properties.

In between the two families - Rosaceae and Piperaceae – there is no love lost. Blended in a candle, the Rosa shrub and the peppercorn - that varies in colour from pink to green and black – compose a perfect match: when cold, the fieriness of the peppercorn takes over and when warm, the soft perfume of rose is elegantly spiced up.
