“To Enrich the Collection Matières, I wanted to focus on the Tonka bean, a material often used in perfumery but too rarely claimed. It’s a deep material, full of contrasts, sometimes reminiscent of vanilla leather, sometimes the sweetness of almonds, or even revealing chocolatey facets.
For Velvet Tonka, I wanted to pay homage to my Moroccan origins but also to the iconography linked to this region of the world, through its flavors and landscapes, like a gourmet breath coming straight from the Atlas mountains.
The Velvet Tonka perfume is built around a trilogy of Tonka bean, almond and orange blossom on an amber background.
The woody velvet accord, built around Amyris wood, expresses itself through a honey vanilla note, softly but with an addictive and powdery trail.” — David Benedek.
