A singular scented candle, named after writer Mary Shelley, the mother and author of Frankenstein, Mary pays tribute to a modern icon. An iconoclast of the 19th century, she denounces the value of a self-righteous English society through emancipation and marries a poet travelling across Europe.
Encased in luxurious mat black glass, Mary is housed in a signature Trudon box adorned with gold embossing featuring gothic illustrations by Lawrence Mynott of Mary Shelley holding a cadaver exquis, hinting back at her life as a visionary female writer.
Theatrical with a luminous depth, floral and spicy notes of immortelle, tuberose, star aniseed and cardamom hint at maverick travels, that a heady heart composed of patchouli, cedar, gaiacwood further transgresses. Mary is a subversive perfume: the testament of a rich interior life, it reveals the life of a cursed heroin.
