As Australians embrace spring and summer by the sea, Davines has launched its Ocean Keeper campaign to bring sustainability into salons and everyday beauty routines . This initiative shines a light on one of the planet’s most urgent challenges—protecting water—and invites customers to be part of the solution through purposeful choices.
At the heart of Ocean Keeper is a simple yet powerful act: when clients purchase an Essentials Refill Pouch and Conditioner, they receive a complimentary Essentials Shampoo 250ml valued at AUD $49.50. This gift-with-purpose not only rewards loyalty but reinforces the message that small, considered actions can have a meaningful impact on our oceans.
Davines has been working with social enterprise Plastic Bank since 2021, removing over 2,500 tonnes of plastic waste from environments across Indonesia, the Philippines, Brazil and Thailand. By maintaining a 1:1 balance between the plastic used in its packaging and the plastic collected, the brand ensures every product is a step toward circularity. Within Australia, Davines also partners with Sea Shepherd, donating 5% of proceeds from two direct-action promotions to support marine debris clean-ups along local coastlines.
Looking ahead, Davines has set ambitious water conservation targets, including reducing water consumption in its Davines Village headquarters by 50% by 2030 compared to 2023, and cutting water use in production by 75% per ton of bulk product. Through eco-design, recyclable packaging and local action, the brand is proving that sustainability and beauty can coexist in perfect balance.
This season, as Australians gather by the water for picnics, surf trips and coastal escapes, Ocean Keeper brings a new dimension to haircare—a chance to align daily rituals with a global movement to defend our most precious resource.
