When Time Meets Tide: Panerai Makes a Waves-Sized Entrance at Hamilton Island Race Week 2025

17 Aug 2025

Australia’s most glamorous sailing spectacle, Hamilton Island Race Week, welcomed an exciting new partner this August as Panerai, the Italian-Swiss watchmaker synonymous with maritime heritage, made its grand debut. The collaboration marked a milestone for the Maison, further anchoring its investment in the Australian market while captivating guests with the artistry of high horology.

From 16 to 23 August, Panerai transformed the Hamilton Island Yacht Club into a hub of precision, Italian design, and nautical spirit through an exclusive boutique pop-up. Collectors and sailing enthusiasts were invited to discover the Maison’s celebrated timepieces, from the iconic Luminor to models crafted for modern marine exploration.

Panerai’s story has always been tied to the sea. Born in Florence in 1860, the Maison built its reputation supplying precision instruments to the Italian Navy, including the revolutionary Luminor and Radiomir, engineered for extreme underwater conditions. Today, at its Neuchâtel manufacture, Panerai continues to combine Italian flair with Swiss horological mastery to create timepieces that speak to explorers of both land and ocean.

The highlight of Race Week extended beyond the regatta. Guests indulged in two intimate touch & feel experiences at qualia’s Long Pavilion on 19 and 21 August, where Panerai experts shared insights into craftsmanship, performance, and design over champagne.

Panerai’s debut underscored Hamilton Island Race Week’s reputation as more than a regatta—it is a convergence of luxury, lifestyle, and sport in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. With its bold arrival, Panerai ensured that time itself became part of the race, measured in moments of elegance, precision, and maritime passion.
