Christian Louboutin’s New ‘Nude’ Heels Are Redefining Ballet—and Inclusivity

03 Aug 2025

What does nude really mean? For Christian Louboutin, it’s never been about beige. It's a concept—fluid, inclusive, and deeply personal. With the launch of the new Cassia Lace Up heels, the Maison takes that ethos one pirouette further, blending the visual language of ballet with a radically inclusive vision of beauty.

First introduced in 2013, Louboutin’s Nudes collection was born from a simple yet powerful realisation: no single tone could ever define ‘nude’. Since then, it has expanded to embrace a full spectrum of skin shades—turning heels into second skin illusions, and footwear into statements of visibility.

This year, that message takes on new form. The Cassia Lace Up is a ballet-inspired silhouette that speaks volumes through its softness, precision, and sculptural power. The structured square toe references the pointe shoe, while the satin ribbons encircling the ankle pay homage to a ballerina’s quiet ritual before she takes the stage. Crafted in five skin-matching shades of crepe satin, the shoe becomes nearly invisible against the wearer’s foot—allowing the body to lead the performance.

But this is more than design—it’s a correction of the past. For too long, the ballet world offered only pale pink slippers, erasing the presence of many dancers. Cassia Lace Up challenges that visual standard, celebrating movement, identity, and the many colours of femininity. At 100mm, the signature stiletto heel elevates not just the gait but the narrative: every step is a declaration.

With its sensual curves, red sole, and sculptural elegance, Cassia Lace Up transforms a classic into a collector’s item. Available in limited quantities, this capsule marks another bold moment in Christian Louboutin’s journey—not just of fashion, but of reimagined beauty.
