Collectors Are Racing to Chopard: Mille Miglia 2025 Editions Fuel Demand This Season

19 Jun 2025

For the 38th consecutive year, Chopard returned as World Sponsor and Official Timekeeper of the Mille Miglia—the iconic Italian rally famously dubbed by Enzo Ferrari as “the most beautiful race in the world.” And this season, watch aficionados are racing to secure two exceptional new timepieces unveiled during the event: the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Tribute to Sir Stirling Moss, and the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control - 2025 Race Edition.

The Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Tribute to Sir Stirling Moss is a 70-piece limited edition that honours one of motorsport’s greatest feats. On May 1st, 1955, Sir Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson set a record time in the Mille Miglia that remains unbeaten to this day. Crafted in 40.5 mm Lucent Steel™, the chronograph mirrors the silver tones of Moss’s famed Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, with welded lugs, a ‘glass box’ sapphire crystal, and a silvered opaline dial. The exhibition case-back displays engravings commemorating the legendary victory, while inside beats a COSC-certified self-winding chronograph movement with 54-hour power reserve.

Alongside this tribute comes the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control - 2025 Race Edition, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Chopard’s ‘Grand Turismo Sport’ line. Limited to 250 pieces, this 43 mm timepiece is a striking fusion of performance and style, with a salmon-coloured dial inspired by vintage racing dashboards. The fuel gauge-inspired power reserve indicator, classic tyre-tread strap lining, and COSC-certified 01.02-M calibre movement underscore its motorsport credentials. Each watch is engraved with its unique edition number and the evocative ‘Brescia > Rome > Brescia’ route, echoing the spirit of the race.

As more than 400 classic cars roared across Italy this month, weaving from Brescia to Rome and back, Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and six-time Le Mans champion Jacky Ickx once again joined the rally in the Scheufele family’s prized Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. At the brand’s paddock in Brescia, these new Mille Miglia editions became a focal point for collectors drawn to both racing heritage and horological mastery.
