Curved to Perfection—Franck Muller Reimagines Its Iconic Silhouette with the Curvex CX

22 May 2025

Since 1992, the Cintrée Curvex has stood as Franck Muller's most recognisable signature. With its elongated case, architectural numerals and confident presence on the wrist, it redefined watchmaking aesthetics for a generation. Now, in 2025, the Maison refreshes its icon with the Curvex CX—a modern evolution that elevates everything the original stood for.

First introduced in the Grand Central Tourbillon, the Curvex CX is now available as a core collection model. Its most striking feature? A redesigned case structure that brings the sapphire crystal right to the edge, extending across the full curve of the case and creating greater visual access to the dial. The “invisible” bezel—separate from the case—allows for elegant two-tone variations, while minimizing material along the sides for an airy, uninterrupted display.

Another standout detail is the newly developed Clous de Paris spiral guilloché—a textured dial motif formed from tiny, three-dimensional pyramids that catch and reflect light as they grow outward in perfect symmetry. The result is not just decorative, but kinetic—creating the illusion of motion even in stillness.

Powered by the FM 2536-SC self-winding movement with a 42-hour power reserve, the Curvex CX is as precise as it is poetic. Its 191 components and 25 jewels are finished with the same care as its exterior, with Côtes de Genève, perlage, and sunray brushing throughout. The curved alligator strap, integrated directly into the case, ensures a seamless fit and refined comfort.

At once dramatic and discreet, the Curvex CX captures what makes Franck Muller timeless: mechanical integrity, expressive design, and an unwavering commitment to horological artistry.
