A Royal Crest for an Iconic Marque—Aston Martin Granted Warrant by His Majesty The King

20 May 2025

For the first time in its 112-year history, Aston Martin will bear the Royal Arms of the British sovereign—marking a new chapter in the marque’s storied relationship with the Royal Family. As of April 2025, the company has officially commenced use of the Royal Warrant by Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III, placing the King’s new Royal Crest alongside the brand’s iconic wings.

This emblematic honour formalises a connection that has long existed in spirit and tradition. “Our appointment by His Majesty represents a truly proud and historic moment for Aston Martin,” said Adrian Hallmark, the brand’s CEO. “It is a testament to our employees’ dedication and to the values of British design, craftsmanship, and engineering excellence—principles that His Majesty has steadfastly championed.”

The warrant follows Aston Martin's 2024 recognition in the King’s Award for Enterprise and crowns a relationship with the Royal Family that dates back to 1954, when Prince Philip received a three-litre Lagonda. In the decades since, the marque has earned its place in royal lore—from the Duke of Kent’s DB2/4 to the beloved DB6 Volante of His Majesty The King.

The King, a member of the Aston Martin Owners Club since 1973, has long expressed personal enthusiasm for the marque. His DB6 Volante became a global symbol of British modernity during the 2011 royal wedding, when the newlywed Prince and Princess of Wales drove it down The Mall. In 2020, then Prince of Wales, His Majesty inaugurated the DBX manufacturing facility in Wales—the first of its kind in over 50 years.

In recent appearances, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2024 Sandringham Owners Club gathering, Aston Martin has remained intertwined with moments of national significance and celebration. The addition of the sovereign’s crest to the Aston Martin nameplate now brings ceremonial recognition to a relationship defined by shared values, mutual admiration, and a love for timeless British engineering.
