Vanquish Volante Reigns as the World’s Fastest, Most Powerful Front-Engine Convertible

16 May 2025

Aston Martin has officially revealed the Vanquish Volante, the most powerful open-top production car the brand has ever built. Designed as the crown jewel of the marque’s flagship lineup, it pairs sculptural beauty with unprecedented performance, arriving as both a celebration of Volante’s 60-year legacy and a statement of where ultra-luxury GT performance is headed next.

At the heart of the Vanquish Volante lies a newly re-engineered 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, producing 835PS and 1000Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 214mph, setting a new benchmark for open-top GTs in its class. With a minimal weight gain of only 95kg over the Coupe, the Volante retains the sharp dynamics of its sibling, offering a near-identical power-to-weight ratio thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre and an 80mm wheelbase extension.

The K-fold roof is a marvel in itself—fully retractable in 14 seconds and operable up to 50km/h, it stows with class-leading compactness, preserving the car’s uninterrupted silhouette. Inside, the bespoke two-seat configuration features Aston Martin’s new-generation cockpit layout, pairing a horizontal centre console with tactile physical controls and a 10.25-inch digital display. Bowers & Wilkins provides the 15-speaker surround system, standard for this halo model.

Chassis refinements include Bilstein DTX adaptive damping and carbon ceramic brakes, with Pirelli P ZERO tyres developed exclusively for this platform. The Volante also debuts a unique exhaust geometry that heightens the V12’s acoustics, especially when the top is down—a visceral element central to the driving experience.

Every detail—down to the floating rear ‘Shield’ graphic and etched lighting signatures—underscores Aston Martin’s precision-driven design language. Yet what sets Vanquish Volante apart is not just its speed or aesthetics, but its composure: it is a convertible that doesn't compromise. For those seeking the pinnacle of performance and craftsmanship in a grand tourer, this is the Aston Martin to know.

Available now in limited production, with first deliveries expected in Q3 2025.
