The fragrance that became an icon has just been reborn with staggering depth. Today, Chloé unveils Cedrus Intense, a powerful new addition to its Atelier des Fleurs collection—one that doesn’t just revisit a classic, but reimagines it through fire, wood, and rose-tinted smoke.
Originally created in 2019 by Quentin Bisch as a luminous bouquet of cedar, vetiver, and sandalwood, Cedrus was a scent of airy elegance. Now, in its Intense reincarnation, the Maison taps both Bisch and Louise Turner to recompose its most iconic formula into a richer, more powerful expression of instinctive femininity.
The result is a crescendo of woods and contrasts. Cedrus Intense opens with the shimmer of bergamot and cardamom, then descends into something darker, more mineral. At its heart, Chloé’s signature rose unfurls in a more primal form, layered with cypriol to create a smoky, almost leathery sensuality.
Then come the woods: Chinese cedar, Indian sand vetiver, and Australian sandalwood—each chosen for its unexpected nuance. Together, they form a base that is both structured and free-flowing, as if the composition itself were reaching toward the sky.
It’s elegant. It’s assertive. It’s unmistakably Chloé.
The new Cedrus Intense Eau de Parfum is available in 50ml (AUD $270) and 150ml (AUD $513) sizes, launching today at select David Jones and Myer locations nationwide.
