With the release of Decision and Existence, the House of Amouage draws the final curtain on its acclaimed Odyssey Collection—a saga of scent, soul, and sublime storytelling that began in 2020. Chapter IV: Eternity arrives not as an ending, but as a soaring meditation on the infinite—two fragrances born from the summit of Oman’s highest peak and the depths of human experience.
It was at the foot of Jebel Shams—“the mountain of the sun”—that Chief Creative Officer Renaud Salmon began a journey that would lead to the heart of these creations. From ancient juniper trees shaped by lightning to the disorienting serenity of clouds below and sky above, his path inspired a powerful duality. Decision reflects that first flash of clarity—the choice that changes everything. Existence is the surrender to something vaster, quieter, and eternal.
Crafted by master perfumer Quentin Bisch, Decision strikes with lightning intensity. Bergamot, Juniper Berries and Frankincense ignite the senses with clarity, while warm Vanilla and Cedarwood ground the composition in acceptance. It is a scent of purposeful resolve—radiant, dynamic, and fiercely alive.
Existence, on the other hand, dissolves the edges of perception. A delicate Lily of the Valley accord is suspended in airy Aldehydes and soft Frankincense, anchored by sensual Benzoin and Ambergris. It is a perfume that lingers like a breath in a dream—an olfactory reverie that feels both intimate and infinite.
Both scents are housed in iconic Amouage flacons: Decision in seagull grey, Existence in ethereal celadon, adorned with artworks by Belgian artist Louise Mertens. Her visual interpretation transforms smoke into a dreamscape, with bottles rising like sacred monoliths from an endless mist.
With their official launch on 1st May 2025, Decision and Existence mark the culmination of a journey—and the beginning of another. Retailing at AUD $599 for 100ml, the Chapter IV fragrances will be available at Libertine Parfumerie, Myer and David Jones.
