In the hallowed halls where Renaissance alchemy once sought to transmute base metals into gold, Gucci has conjured a modern marvel: The Alchemist’s Garden. This Spring, the maison unveiled three new Eaux de Parfum—Vanilla Firenze, Fiori di Neroli, and Osmanthus Nectar—each a liquid ode to the ancient art of transformation. Inspired by the four alchemical elements and crafted in Florence, the birthplace of Gucci, these fragrances blur the line between science and magic, offering wearers a vial of bottled poetry.
Vanilla Firenze, a Floral Woody Amber masterpiece, is a dance of contrasts. Perfumer Véronique Nyberg fused Italian Iris Pallida Concrete—meticulously harvested and aged in artisanal caves—with three layers of vanilla, from the smoky depth of gas-extracted essence to the velvety warmth of absolute. Encased in a black bottle emblazoned with a steed, it whispers of nobility and fire. Fiori di Neroli, born from Liguria’s last family-run neroli distillery, captures the Mediterranean sun in a citrus-floral symphony. Mathieu Nardin and Julie Massé distilled fresh blossoms into golden essence, then grounded it with cedar’s earthy embrace, housed in a white bottle adorned with budding orange blossoms.
Osmanthus Nectar, however, is pure alchemical audacity. Natalie Lorson trapped the apricot-like sweetness of osmanthus under glass cloches as they bloomed, blending it with molecular-distilled sandalwood for a creamy, woody trail. Its hummingbird-adorned bottle flutters with whimsy. Alongside these newcomers, the best-selling Tears from the Moon—a celestial bouquet of Damascena rose and white peony—remains a lunar-lit ode to hope, symbolized by a dragonfly in flight.
Priced at $578 AUD each, these scents are designed to layer, creating bespoke olfactory narratives. Pair Vanilla Firenze with Fiori di Neroli for a creamy iris-citrus embrace, or let Osmanthus Nectar mingle with Tears from the Moon for a dewy floral reverie. Available at Myer and David Jones, Gucci’s alchemical legacies await those who dare to wear their dreams.
