Tory Burch Summer Collection continues to explore homespun craftsmanship and a sense of ease

26 Jun 2021

“Summer 2021 is about the allure of simplicity. Dressing with imagination and confidence, filtered through the lens of classic American sportswear. Relaxed silhouettes — elongated shapes, new suiting, and volume juxtaposed with clean lines. Everything is finished with artisanal details like molded leather flowers, lightweight appliqué lace, open work and intricate quilting techniques. The collection continues to explore homespun craftsmanship and a sense of ease.” — Tory

Silhouettes: Pulling from classic ’70s sportswear and focusing on ease and comfort. Tunic and caftan proportions are exaggerated; slim sheaths and dresses with goddess- like ruching and cinching; suiting with high-waisted, wide-leg trousers and midi-length skirts. Dickies, sweater vests and camp shirts layer with button-front skirts and carpenter pants. Sculpted wire jewelry loosely inspired by Calder; artisanal leather floral appliques on ballets with a higher vamp. Scarf-wrap sandals. Handbags and clutches in woven or crochet leather.

Color Palette: A summery gamut, from navy, green and crisp white to softer lavender, pale blue, ivory and deep brown.

Prints + Patterns: Big florals rendered in either applique irises or a bold brown-and- white print. Gingham and a whimsical fruit basket feel perfect for summer, while cotton patchworks add texture and lightness.
