This year marks 200 Years Young for The Macallan. To honour this milestone anniversary, The Macallan will embark on ‘A Journey Through Time’ with the conceptual celebration of the theme of ‘time travel’ – reflecting back on The Macallan’s storied past, taking a moment to appreciate the vibrant present, and looking ahead to the rich future which lays ahead.
In Australia, The Macallan will celebrate A Journey Through Time with a range of exciting on-premise activations with select Sydney venues including InterContinental, Shangri-La and Park Hyatt. Each venue will be invited to put their own twist on a flight of three cocktail creations – one which honours the past, one which depicts the present, and one which takes a forward-thinking approach to what the future will bring.
Beginning with the classics, cocktail iterations embodying the past of The Macallan invite all to taste the enduring spirit created in the carefully selected American and European sherry seasoned oak casks. These cocktails pay homage to the years of dedicated craftsmanship behind the perfect balance of flavours and natural colour in each Double Cask whisky, bringing out the best of both wood and spirit through the expert hands of The Macallan.
Cocktails focused on the present encourage all to savour the now and indulge in nature in its purest form. The Macallan’s Double Cask whiskies are nurtured by its environment and are deeply rooted in the rich, fertile banks of the River Spey.

From 1 July, The Macallan will celebrate A Journey Through Time by partnering with renowned Sydney venue – Park Hyatt Sydney to offer guests the opportunity to experience a flight of three Rob Roy cocktail iterations using The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old and The Macallan limited-edition Harmony Collection Amber Meadow.
Crafted by our head mixologist, Kevin Botte, guests will begin with the classic by diving into the craftsmanship of the past with The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, move on to savour the now from the Scottish nature with The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old and finally endure the legacy of the future with The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow.

Shangri-La Sydney – Blu Bar on 36:
From 1 July, The Macallan will celebrate A Journey Through Time by partnering with iconic; Shangri- La Sydney’s Blu Bar on 36 to offer guests the opportunity to experience a flight of three Whisky Sour cocktail iterations overlooking Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The trio of cocktails will showcase The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, and The Macallan limited-edition Harmony Collection Amber Meadow.

From 15 July, The Macallan will celebrate A Journey Through Time by partnering with one of Sydney’s most luxurious hotels and resort venues – InterContinental. Nestled in the dress circle of Circular Quay with unparalleled views across the Harbour City, InterContinental Sydney has been an icon for more than 35 years.
InterContinental’s Aster Bar will offer guests the opportunity to experience a flight of three Rob Roy cocktail iterations using The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old and The Macallan limited-edition Harmony Collection Amber Meadow.
