In 2024, the new Labirinti Gucci High Jewellery collection embarks on a journey of discovery through a flourishing Italian garden. Majestic mazes and enchanting labyrinths wind their intricate paths to reveal a blooming vision of nature. Landscapes are meticulously framed in a refined sense of balance and symmetry – all guided by the most exquisite and extraordinary colored gemstones.
Labirinti Gucci, named after the Italian word for ‘labyrinths’, centers around three themes – symmetry and ordered beauty, geometric splendor, and blooming nature – brimming with delight and surprise, leading one through the captivating course of life’s wonders. An amble through evergreen pathways and symmetric spaces leads to unexpected elements where – instead of water fountains and colorful flowerbeds – new High Jewellery elements illuminate the collection: a dragonfly and a new interpretation of the House’s G motif, shining in pavé diamonds.
The collection embraces a unique blend of the rational and emotional – two forces of creativity that drive human endeavor. Featuring a total of 140 one-of-a-kind masterpieces, Labirinti Gucci celebrates the exuberant spirit, where instinct and passion play with aesthetic clarity and refinement.
Giardini all'italiana (Italian-style gardens) have long captured the essence of beauty through a balanced sense of harmony and clarity of design, which Labirinti Gucci channels through the purity of gemstones. A statement cuff features a 5.93ct Colombian emerald with an intense green hue and hallmark “jardin” (garden) inclusions, as five fancy diamonds add to the stone’s allure. They adorn a linear pattern of pavé diamonds that subtly evokes the House’s G signature. Also embracing harmonious symmetries is a necklace centered around an exquisite 56.37ct oval-cut green tourmaline, its strong saturation yet nuanced tones enhanced by a sprinkling of 11 additional tourmalines, sparkling in a range of complementary hues.
This story of order and balance continues in a suite of rubellite and tsavorite jewels, arranged in a surprising floral bouquet of sophistication and charm. A cuff bracelet is set with a pear-shaped 30.57ct tourmaline rubellite that features a special star-cut pavilion radiating a play of colors in bursts of fuchsia, pink, and red. A surround of rubellite beads and tsavorites further enlivens the design.
Symmetry takes a twist in Labirinti Gucci via a resplendent necklace that juxtaposes a floral bloom with a linear chain featuring a discreet G logo. The jewel dangles with a 28.07ct spinel, paired with an array of dainty tourmaline rubellite beads and graceful pear-cut tsavorites. Recreating nature’s richness and bounty, the design highlights Gucci’s unique expertise in playing with the refined elements of multiple motifs.
Geometric beauty is a cornerstone of Labirinti Gucci, calling forth the linear pathways of majestic mazes that are echoed in meticulously crafted pieces. The romance of floral geometry is captured in sumptuous necklaces, like a creation that color matches a 53.25ct lagoon tourmaline with a mesmerizing Ethiopian opal of 19.68ct, all framed by brilliant mandarin garnets and opals in a strong and linear, diamond-set design. Also celebrating the purity of lines and gemstones is a necklace themed around an ultra-rare 20.45ct Paraiba tourmaline that emanates a multitude of shades from gleaming green to light blue. A trio of yellow sapphires totaling 17.77cts dangles from the stone, which rests on a white gold diamond pavé chain recalling the House’s G motif.
An homage to harmony, color, and shape also finds expression in a suite of aquamarine and tourmaline jewels, their intricate labyrinthine pattern narrating the journey of life’s surprises. A three- strand necklace studded with shrub-like Paraiba and darker green tourmalines culminates in a ravishing 62.58ct octagonal-cut Santa Maria aquamarine from Brazil. An outline of unique, elongated diamond baguettes adds a mirrored flourish to the stones, which is suspended with a sapphire bead and 3.01ct kite shape diamond. A matching bracelet with a 35.69ct aquamarine, a 10.76ct aquamarine ring, and a pair of earrings echo the aesthetic scheme with a wonderful play on the blue-green palette. Rounding out the geometric nods is a pair of diamond kite-shaped earrings with over two carats each. Near identical in size and shape, their perfectly matched color also highlights the earrings’ intense green emerald beads.
A labyrinth of love and adventure that evokes a kaleidoscope of emotions, Labirinti Gucci welcomes a new motif from the animal world. The dragonfly with its graceful beauty, harmony, peace, and balance finds expression in a series of bejeweled brooches sparkling with luminous color. A cool, warm design of tanzanites, Paraiba tourmalines, and white diamonds sits alongside verdant emeralds, white and fancy diamonds. Alighting on the House as a symbol of rebirth and freedom, the dragonfly also features in mismatched earrings crafted in pink spinels, emeralds, and white diamonds.
Eye-catching necklaces also capture nature in full bloom. A masterpiece is suspended with a 113.35ct green tourmaline in an elongated shape – one of the collection’s most important gemstones. Free of inclusions and glowing with splendid vivacity, the tourmaline can be detached and worn as different jewels. Equally enchanting is a flower necklace set with a 60.89ct tanzanite in a deep and pure blue color, and which sets off a chain of gemstones – tanzanites, diamonds, and Paraiba and fancy tourmalines – in a magnificent construction of floral artistry.
Guiding us gracefully through a rich garden of harmonious creations, all charmingly rooted in the reassuring power of human reason and order, Labirinti Gucci channels the spirit of Gucci High Jewellery – as the House embarks on a journey through a labyrinth of creation and exploration, in an uncompromising pursuit of sophistication, elegance, and beauty.
